PHOENIX, AZ (March, 2016) — Sugar is a bigger villain than fat in today’s diets,[1] and a leading researcher recently described it as “toxic.”[2] This isn’t surprising, given that 70% of us routinely consume too much of the stuff, chiefly from sodas and other sweetened drinks, snacks, and candy, according to data just published in JAMA — The Journal of the American Medical Association.[3] While it doesn’t give license to overindulge, Glyde D®, a new supplement from Mineral Biosciences®, helps manage blood sugar and the damage caused from glycation, when used as part of your diet.
What Is Glycation?
In our bodies, glycation (pronounced “gly-KAY-shun”) can occur when to eating too much sugar. In the normal course of digestion, sugar and starchy foods are converted into blood sugar, which is used as fuel by muscles and organs. Eating too many sugary and starchy foods impacts blood sugar levels, and if this keeps happening, blood sugar will eventually become chronically high, increasing risk for multiple health issues.[4]
Adding insult to injury, excess sugar combines with proteins and forms harmful rogue molecules called Advanced Glycation End-products, or AGEs for short.[5] AGEs make a human body age faster, by damaging every type of cell, in nerves, organs, arteries, joints, and the skin. Among other things, AGEs break down collagen, contributing to wrinkles and sags on the outside and stiffer joints and arteries on the inside.
Natural Minerals to the Rescue
Glyde D contains a one-of-a-kind ingredient, called Ioniplex™, patented for minimizing the harmful effects of glycation — a process formally known as anti-glycation. It comes from ancient mineral deposits that began their lives as plants, in different areas of the United States. Millions of years ago, lush vegetation grew in these areas. Over time, the plants became fossilized and transformed into exceptionally mineral-rich soils. Mineral Biosciences finds and extracts these naturally-occurring minerals with a patented process that uses no chemicals.
Why These Minerals Are Effective
There are at least 25 major, minor, and trace minerals in the supplement, including zinc, magnesium, calcium, iodine, and chromium. They are in an “ionic” form, meaning they consist of tiny molecules that are more easily absorbed than other types of minerals. Glyde D contains an unusually wide spectrum of natural minerals which are easily utilized by the human body for optimum function and defense against glycation.
Research Demonstrate Results
Glycation can be detected with the same tests that measure blood sugar, and these have been used in studies of the patented mineral complex. When glycation decreases, levels of blood sugar reach healthier levels.
A study published in the International Journal for Vitamin and Nutrition Research[6] tested the proprietary mineral complex in Glyde D on human cells and in diabetic mice. Researchers concluded: “To our best knowledge, this is the first description ever of a fossil material having anti-glycation activity in pre-clinical models.” While Glyde D is not a treatment, the research demonstrates that this powerful ingredient has a beneficial effect on blood sugar and glycation.
