Glyde D® Defends Against Biggest Sugar Pitfall*

Sep 12, 2016

PHOENIX, AZ (May, 2016) — Eating too much sugar disrupts healthy levels of blood sugar but the biggest pitfall is this: Individual reactions to specific high-sugar foods can be so drastically different that it’s difficult to tell which foods are right, according to a study of 800 people published in the peer-reviewed journal Cell.[1] When used as part of one’s daily diet, Mineral Biosciences® Glyde D® helps support healthy blood sugar levels, reducing the harmful effects of excess sugar in foods and drinks.

What the Study Found

People in the study wore blood sugar monitors around the clock, for a week, and recorded their diets and lifestyle habits. Although high-sugar and high-starch foods are known to raise blood sugar,[2] researchers found that the effects varied greatly from one individual to another.

For about four in ten people, blood sugar rose sharply after eating bananas, but not after eating cookies, even though both contained the same number of calories. For others, cookies spiked blood sugar while bananas did not. For some, sushi raised blood sugar more than ice cream,[3] and one woman discovered that tomatoes sent her blood sugar soaring.[4]

These differences help explain why the same diet can produce weight loss for some people and none for others. Sleep and physical activity also affect sugar metabolism. Unfortunately, there is no simple way to tell which food wreaks the most havoc for a given individual.

How Glyde D Works

Glyde D contains a patented ingredient called Ioniplex™, which has been shown in scientific research to help support healthy blood sugar levels[5] when taken as part of one’s diet. More specifically, the mineral complex reduces a detrimental process called glycation (pronounced “gly-KAY-shun”).

Excess sugar triggers glycation, the production of harmful rogue molecules that damage every type of cell, in nerves, organs, tissues, arteries, joints, and the skin.

Glyde D provides Glycation Defense with added Vitamin D to promote healthy levels of this often deficient vitamin.

Plant Mineral Extract Defends against Harm

Ioniplex is patented for minimizing the harmful effects of glycation — a process formally known as anti-glycation. It comes from ancient mineral deposits in parts of the United States where lush vegetation once grew, millions of years ago. Mineral Biosciences finds and extracts these naturally-occurring minerals with a patented process that uses no chemicals.

There are at least 25 major, minor, and trace minerals in the supplement, in an “ionic” form. They consist of tiny molecules that are more easily absorbed than other types of minerals, to support optimum function and defend against glycation.

A study published in the International Journal for Vitamin and Nutrition Research[6] tested the proprietary mineral complex in Glyde D on human cells and in diabetic mice. Researchers concluded: “To our best knowledge, this is the first description ever of a fossil material having anti-glycation activity in pre-clinical models.”
